This dense sandstone has been quarried from this area for many years. Blue, Lilac, and full color are the three basic colors. Full color will range from blue to green and into some brown tones. The thicker layers can be cut into strips to produce a 2-7" split-face, however the most attractive thing about Pennsylvania bluestone is its' thinner layers of flagstone. The most common product is the pattern flooring. This is flagstone that has been sawn into a multiple size squared-rectangular pattern. The standard sizes start at 1'x 1' and go up to 2'x 2.5' in 6" intervals. Larger sizes are available. A 3/8" gauged tile is produced which works great on interior applications. Treads of various sizes and lengths are also produced to exact thicknesses.
