This is one of our newer quarries, and is rapidly growing in popularity. The Painted Desert Quarry produces mainly thicker material for veneer walls, landscaping, retaining walls, waterfalls and more. It produces three different types of random building stone- the surface or moss builder, Old Hickory, and the Painted Desert builder. All three will display a wide variety of colors with the surface builder being the darker of the three. Chopping the surface stone into larger squares and rectangles produces the Moss Big Block. One side will often have moss while the flip side will have a rich red, brown, or chocolate color. Chopping the deeper layers of the quarry makes the Painted Desert 4" Chop. This produces a wide range of tans, buffs, brown, chocolate, purple, orange-red and more. Both of these stones are more of a rough chop and with these colors, it often is used in a country, desert, or southwest setting. The Painted Desert quarry also produces beautiful field stone, block brick rock, and tumbled cobble. Moss Boulders & Beam Rocks also come out of this pit.
