Quarry Overview

The Millsap is a Texas sandstone and is a bit softer than Oklahoma stones. Millsap has a nice tan base color with an occasional red or brown. It is also available in a surface moss builder. It is quarried most often as a random builder however it produces a nice rough chop pattern when chopped. Millsap is also diamond sawn into slabs and then chopped. This produces a very clean chop pattern exposing more of the subtle color changes of the heart of the stone. One thing about our Millsap builders is that it comes in large, consistent pieces. It is not blasted out of the ground then scoop loaded. Each bucket is hand loaded. Most often our Millsap stone is sold bulk not on pallets.
